Travel

Our venue, The Old Rectory, is in South Norfolk – just outside of Norwich and close to UEA. Arrivals and departures will be easiest by car or taxi. It isn’t served by reliable public transport!

By car

Feel free to drive and arrive by car. There is plenty of parking available at the venue which will be clearly signposted, along with an attendant present to help you find a space.

By Taxi

The venue is easily reached by taxi and will by the best option for those unable to drive on the day. Please pre-book taxis yourselves for arrival or departure as needed in advance of the day. Popular app-based taxi services such as Uber are new to Norfolk (seriously) and may not be reliable. Recommended local firms are listed below.

By Train

If journeying to Norfolk by train, the most convenient station to arrive at will be Norwich. This will have plenty of accommodation in the vicinity and is a short taxi ride or drive away (roughly 20 minutes) from the venue.

Departing the venue

Departure from the Old Rectory will take place at midnight. Any accommodation is unlikely to be within safe walking or cycling distance, with no street lights, and there is no public transport that heads towards Norwich.

If not travelling by car or sharing with others, the best option for departure will be taking a pre-booked taxi. Please pre-book these yourselves in advance of the day.

Recommended taxi services

Please pre-book taxis. You will likely need to book with a local firm such as Veezu (previously ABC), Goldstar or Courtesy.

Uber has recently arrived in Norwich and may be an option too, but it is worth checking how far out of the city centre they are able to come.

Accommodation

There are a number of hotels available in Norfolk and Norwich. If you are travelling by train, we strongly recommend staying in Norwich city centre due to most taxi firms being based there.
